Service Description

Myofascial trigger points and tender points in soft tissue can often cause pain, reduced range of motion and decreased function. Dry needling is a skilled intervention that uses a sterile, very thin filament needle inserted into the tissue to stimulate healing that may be associated with one or several of your complaints. Where the Graston technique and therapeutic massage “break up” the adhesions and scar tissue in muscles, dry needling has more of a neurological effect on the muscles. Our doctors often explain it this way: “The thin needle goes into the muscle, activating nerve receptors, causing the brain to tell the related tissue to unwind and relax. The unhealthy muscles and fascia then stop pulling on the bones and joints, helping to stop the muscle memory that often causes chronic pain and dysfunction.”
